Choosing an ideal robot vacuum cleaner seems easy before you start the research. However, when you bump into all the marketing and tech jargon, it becomes complicated. Here are many aspects to consider, followings are outlined the main ones. Whether you are looking for a basic robot vacuum or a smart one, you need to choose wisely.
Robot vacuum features
1.Suction Power
Suction power basically is the main reason to be considered a good vacuum. Without the ability to powerfully pick up dust and dirt, your new purchase will be a waste.
Your floor type also decides the level of suction you require. For hard floors, low suction works fine. It’s carpets and rugs that require high suction for deep cleaning.
2.Detection
This feature, now standard across almost all models, helps the robot sense when it has reached a ledge or step so it can back off and avoid a damaging tumble.
3.Robot vacuum apps
All robot vacuums, with the exception of the most basic, are smart-home compatible. They'll link to your wifi and use a special app to keep track of your cleaning schedule. While the capability of a robot varies based on its sophistication, they should all be able to turn machines on and off, pause the cycle, and program your preferred cleaning time and frequency. A map of where the robot has cleaned, a cleaning log/history, manual cleaning, spot cleaning, battery status, or notifications when the robot has completed its task are additional functions. The basic ability to manually turn your robot vacuum on/off and adjust basic settings manually, either at the device or via a remote control, is still handy.
Some tips for purchasing a robot vacuum
1、Begin by taking a look around your house. Consider whether you have a lot of hard floors or a lot of carpet. How thick is your carpet if you have it? Consider your pets: would the robot vacuum have to deal with kitty litter or thick fur? All of these factors should be taken into account before beginning your search for a robot vacuum.2、Set a budget for yourself. As mentioned earlier, robot vacuums with the most up-to-date capabilities can cost upwards of $1,000. For roughly $200, you can get a cheaper model with some of the premium features, such as WiFi connectivity and a self-emptying dustbin.
3、Do you want an app to go along with it? Dedicated apps are available for some robot vacuums. Apps can help you keep track of your robot vacuum and schedule cleaning sessions. These can also aid in the planning of your home and the establishment of no-go zones.
4、Robot vacuum cleaners use a variety of navigation techniques. If you buy a low-cost robot vacuum, it will most likely travel erratically and bounce off walls and impediments. Some medium and high-end models, on the other hand, are guided by lasers and optical sensors.
5、Some models are better at cleaning than others. Every robot vacuum cleaner works in a unique way. Some are better at collecting dust and dirt than pet hair, while others may function better on hard floors rather than carpet.
I've compared pretty much robot vacuums, in the end, I chose the Lefant F1. Considering my little apartment, I need a relatively compact size robot vacuum for picking up dust, dirt and hair. The Lefant F1 has a thin body with a diameter of 11 inches and a height of 2.7 inches, which make it shuttle underneath my sofa, bed and other furniture effortlessly. Even if more narrow spaces, corners, sofa blind corners, it can enter and sweep more areas, improve coverage. At the same time, the large 600ml visible dustbin can absorb lots of garbage steadily and reduce the number of cleanings, I don't need to clean the dust box every time, just once a week.
Secondary, Lefant F1’s anti-collision abilities have improved a lot and the app has gotten cleaner and easier to use. It uses Freemove3.0 technology to detect objects around it and avoid them. You may ask what is the Freemove3.0? Simply says, Freemove3.0 technology is the brand’s original built-in whole body detection technology which is integrated in anti-collision infrared sensor. It mainly uses to automatically sense obstacles encountered by the whole body and retreat. The APP offers the Freemove sensitivity button. When I adjust the button to the maximum gear, the obstacles in front of F1 can be sensed in advance and will not be arbitrarily crossed, such the stairs, wall, chair and desk legs, kitchen threshold, etc.
To my surprise, although it has small size, Lefant F1 has a suction capacity of up to 4000pa, stronger than many other robots. The suction power can easily take pet hair, beans, snack crumbs, and other detritus from my floor. The bottom is also equipped with a brushless motor and a 3600mAh high-capacity Li-ion battery, allowing it to work for up to 200 minutes or 200 square meters.
In a short, if you want the most bang for your buck, a latest product like the Lefant F1 is probably the best bet.
